In this article I expose all the data of the collection, how I make each item, curious details and more. All the sections are separated by number, so if you are looking for a specific information, you can look for it in that section, here is the list in order:

  1. Main facts about the collection.
  2. How they are created.
  3. Curiosities and future of the collection.

1.1 What is the Rare Cookie Club?

It is a collection of 33 NFTs, available in the Raresama marketplace. All the NFTs are handmade in 3D software and present different themes, starting from a main cookie.

There is no AI involved, and they are not generated by algorithms.

1.2 How will they be distributed?

Each week a cookie will be revealed and then auctioned off. Every cookie is a secret until revealed although there may be clues before then, so stay tuned to my Twitter @Akro_DV.

The duration of the auctions may vary as well as the weekly drop, which may increase but not decrease. It will be like this until the collection is complete.

1.3 What are the rarities and base price?

The base price is yet to be determined but will be the same from Cookie #01 to #33.

As for rarities, there are none. That’s why the price is the same for all of them, also, all the cookies will have the same utility too. So being at auction, it will be the bidders who will decide the rarity.

These are the only 3 cookies revealed (so far). They were shown exclusively in the Raresama art gallery.

2.1 How is the “oven” and “kitchen” prepared?

All are made in Blender, there are several types of cookie, varying in shape but not in dimensions, the eyes and mouths are also located in the same position but these, like the cookie can vary in form.

They also share the same lighting set which is modified in intensity and colors depending on the theme. The background can also change in color and can present patterns and other elements.

2.2 How I bake them step by step:

  1. The first thing I do is to look for references about what I would like to do, then I choose the cookie shape I want to use, and then start modeling accessories, adding details and texturing.
  2. I adjust the secondary lighting that complements the background color and textures.
  3. After rendering, I run them through Photoshop where I add (not always) effects, overlays and adjust colors, brightness and contrast if necessary, export them and with this the Cookie is ready!

2.3 How long does it take for a cookie to be ready?

From the process of searching for references until it has been exported in Photoshop, approximately 10 to 15 hours per cookie.

It is a slow process since everything is done by hand and I try to take care of the details as much as possible. It can be similar to a real cook, the more love and dedication, the better the food tastes.

Comparison of Akro styles

3.1 Why have I suddenly created this collection?

More than one may be surprised by the fact that this collection does not fit my usual style. I have always said that I love art in all its forms and I don’t want to limit my ideas and knowledge to only one style.

This will not be the last time you will see me experimenting with my styles, besides it was an idea I had for a long time and the opportunity to be invited to Raresama motivated me to finally create this collection.

It is also an easy style to adapt to in-game items, consumable, physical products… so this collection has a very promising future ahead of it.

3.2 Conclusion.

I want to start by saying, that working on this collection is a lot of fun and the support it is getting, plus the great possibility of utilities that the Moonsama team can give it fills me with illusion. On the other hand I am developing new techniques, after all the advantage of using Blender is that you always learn new things and trying new styles increases my ability to create, so who knows, there may be a continuation of this collection or something completely new.

I hope you liked this post and found it interesting, I’m always open to hear opinions and suggestions.
